Avinashi is part of the ancient ‘Kongunadu’ which now comprises the districts of Coimbatore, Salam, Dharmapuri, Karur and Palani. This Place of Great historical importance was known as ‘Thirupukkaliyur’ in the ancient times. Avinashi temple is located on the Chennai – Cochin NH47 highways.
